Oh The Sea is a walking audio tour, an installation, an interactive site based listening project, a theatrical location project, a walk through nature. It is everything at the same time but with every label Oh The Sea remains based upon Homer's Odyssey. We started our project in 2014 in the famous Dutch seaside resort of Scheveningen (The Hague), and with all instant succes director Ingrid van Frankenhuyzen and set designer Pink Steenvoorden, in 2015 recorded a new children's version (8+) and added an extra spectacular installation. At the tour’s start, we provide you with an MP3 player with headphones. You then embark on what seems to be an ordinary walk, until you reach the three locations that are designed for sitting, and listening. On those three locations you can enjoy three short adventures that the Greek hero Odysseus endures at sea. Think of the dangerously beautiful singing Sirens or the sea monsters Scylla and Charybdis. The sea always in view from different perspectives. Oh The Sea is available in three languages: English, German and Dutch.
The Dutch news paper De Volkskrant in 2014 wrote"....Oh The Sea is an exceptional sensory experience."
